Live Music: Gold Coast
Sydney to Gold Coast Drive
Gold Coast Live Music
After a hard day on the beach what better way to spend the evening than listening to live music. From large music venues that attract big names to intimate spaces in cafés where live jazz, Latin and folk can be heard, the Gold Coast has a range of live music venues. We’ve listed 7 that cover the gamut.
NightQuarter – a night market in Helensvale with a music space. The music is free.
Soundlounge in Currumbin RSL attracts some big name bands. It won Best Music Venue of the year. There is a cover charge.
Elsewhere Bar right in Surfers Paradise has live music every Friday night.
Mandala Organic Arts Café at Broadbeach is an intimate indoor-outdoor space with live music every Friday and Saturday, and sometimes Thursday and Sunday, too. Expect acoustic, blues, jazz, Latin and folk.
Currumbin Creek Tavern has an upstairs band room. Expect a broad range of genres; punk, metal, folk, acoustic, rock, pop, blues, funk.
Miami Marketta has a stage surrounded by food trucks (yum!) and has had some big names book the place out. Their indoor space, Studio 56, has regular indie shows on Thursday nights. Check out their gig guide for listings.
Southport Sharks has live music every Friday and Saturday. Tribute bands are popular here. Many of the gigs are free.
